The center of this Jewish medallion from Persia is set with an oval turquoise, as blue has been used as a "lucky" color in the Middle East for 5000 years. A four-line Hebrew inscription contains the 42 initial letters of the prayer Ana Bekoach, one of the ancient names of God.
